Founder, The Guarantee Company
Kelvin Mbue is the founder of The Guarantee Company, a greenfield start-up in the digital financial industry, finalist in the 2020 Virtual Africa Hackathon. Kelvin believes that technology offers the best opportunity for development, particularly through platforms that encourage creative problem-solving and collaboration. As founder of The Guarantee Company, Kelvin designed and prototyped an innovative new contingent payments platform, recently leveraging on distributed database technology to deliver a whole new way for individuals, businesses and governments to structure economic arrangements. Kelvin earned a double major in Marketing and Management prior to joining the banking industry in 2008, now a self-taught software prototype developer and completing a Master of Laws LLM, with a focus on international law and technology from the University of Law, UK. Kelvin enjoys trail-running in the local forests, Ngong Hills and Rift Valley, Kenya. As a full-time uncle of 6, he works to stay very active as the family adventures unfold.
