Martin Warioba is Founder & Managing Partner of WS Technology Consulting and founder of Fundi247, a digital marketplace platform for technicians, customers and retailers, that intends to bring inclusive financial services to the marketplace. He has more than 17 years of experience in Information Technology and payments, both as consultant, project manager and software developer.
In the past 7 years, Martin has been one of the key Payments and Digital Financial Services (DFS) experts in East Africa where he has been involved in designing and implementation of various DFS Interoperability, electronic payments and enterprise systems projects in Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda as well as East Africa Community (EAC). Martin was a key figure in development of scheme rules that led to a successful world’s first P2P mobile wallet-to-mobile wallet interoperability between six mobile network operators (MNOs) in Tanzania as well as mobile money interoperability operations in Uganda between Airtel, Africell and MTN Uganda. Martin has also helped Tanzania Social Action Fund (TASAF) to design and implement electronic payments system that will allow TASAF to move away from cash to electronic payments through bank accounts, mobile money wallets and biometric authentication.
Prior to founding WS Technology Consulting, Martin worked with Deloitte Consulting US LLP as Technology Integration Consultant and Central Bank of Tanzania as Senior Technology Analyst. Martin has Computer Science degree with a minor in Mathematics from Louisiana State University (Class of 2003) as well as MBA and MSc in Information Management degrees from Arizona State University (Class of 2007). He sits on the board of CRDB Bank PLC and its Governance and Risk committees as Independent, Non-Executive Director since January 2020. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by Project Management Institute in United States since November 2010.
